Therapy For Effective Problem Solution
Formula for 100% solution of any problem:-
Personal Crisis Managed
I went through a personal crisis in my health. One fine day my headache which I've been managing for many years resurfaced. As it was a one side headache, I took tablets for migraine, which was earlier prescribed by my physician. But to my dismay, I found that it still lingered on. By the time the pain spread around my eyes. As I suffered from a stuffy nose too, I decided to take the help of my General Practitioner. After a check up, he diagnosed it as acute sinus, and prescribed medication for five days. But well, I found no relief. There was very acute lingering pain, accompanied by blurring of my left eye. I decided to take the help of my eye surgeon. After, thoroughly testing me, he asked me to get my blood test done. After finding that there was an inflammation some were in the left side of my head, he put me on anti-inflammatory drug accompanied by eye drops. After informing me that this inflammation could be the result of any cause, he made me undergo various tests like, MRI, CT Scan, blood tests to rule out B.P.,Diabetes, Cholesterol build up, tumor, protein build up etc, and after he also tested with his own personal equipments, he came to the final diagnosis, that there was inflammation in my optic nerve. This condition was called as papillitis or optic neuritis. But by the time this diagnosis was done, which took around nine days, I had started loosing my sight. I lost eighty percent of my sight. My surgeon took a quick decision, and injected medication directly into my optic nerve and put me on three days of steroids (intravenous). Each day I was administered one gram. After that, I was continuously monitored, and given steroids and various other medications orally. As my condition improved, he reduced the dosage of steroids, and now I'm on only 20 milligrams, which will be further reduced to 15....10.....5.....and out of it.....hmmmmm.......what a relief......I have slowly started all my activities. To start my first step in my marathon training, I have started with brisk paced walk(thank to our wonderful coach Mr Samson). But well, I had to axe one of my major activity, which I've been doing for the last 16 years. I took the decision of resigning my post as a chair-person of an Early Intervention Clinic which intervenes early Mental Retardation. I also gave up my post as the managing committee member of a Mentally Retarded School. I had to take this decision, as all the activities were in the afternoons, and I felt that I needed to reorient and reorganise my self to keep my self very fit, so that I can give 100% to what ever activity I will be involved in future.

Recession In Economy
Right from the time recession has hit the economy, it has become a catch word every where. There is no conversation without this word popping up. But when ever this word comes to my mind, another word attaches itself.......and that is consumerism. So in order to manage recession, we need to tackle consumerism. Quiet a difficult task as the whole society has become a consumeristic society. Electronic media, print media, malls........anywhere you turn around, we find them luring us to consume more. Why not we attempt to get out of this loop........well I believe we can. I have personally made a humble attempt and I do believe that this is good not only for our pocket, but also for our mental and physical health. For a start, I made some life style changes which began from my kitchen. A few things like doing away with all fast food items, farsans, pickles, jams, ketchups, ready to cook items etc. Then in comes seasonal vegetables, fruits, nuts, and whole cereals and pulses. We save not only on the monthly grossery bills, but we also gain on our health. This is just the beginning...........

Press The Pause button
Even when the going is good, and we are engrossed and involved in the the various activities that we have chosen, it is very necessary that we press the pause button and review our activities and our perspectives. When we press this pause button, we can do activities that are totally different from the ones that we are doing, or else just get away from it all and totally relax amidst nature. It even helps when we enrol ourselves for meditation or any class which helps in upgrading ourselves. Believe me.......when we come out of it, we view things in a different perspective and at times we even chop away the dead wood which has been sapping our energy..........the net result being, that we offer life more than 100%.

Expression Of Solidarity
The events of the past few days has really shaken up Mumbai and its citizens. Just a handful of ill informed youths filled with wrong knowledge held our city to ransom. The lure of money and instant gratification is gripping our youth. It is high time that our youth channel their energy towards a wholesome and positive lifestyle.

Concept Of Being Here And Now
Thoughts.....thoughts......thoughts.....is anyone free from thoughts? The question has answered itself. If we examine our thoughts, we find that they are of the past experiences or of future plans. So far so good.....but the problem arises when we dwell on past experience or on future uncertainty. Dwelling on these thoughts drains our energy and we loose clarity of mind. Living here and now is the only reality. It is the only truth. Other thoughts are just imagination. Any thought of the past and the present if need be should be entertained only from the present without stepping out of our present state. When we live in the concept of here and now, we can give 100% to what so ever activity we engage our self in.

Lifestyle changes
Many times we find that we experience problems in health or in relationship due to a particular lifestyle. So the best way is to bring changes in lifestyle. When we refer to life style changes, it means regular exercise, healthy food habits, some sort of spiritual practice which help us in keeping a good mental balance, a healthy hobby and a healthy social life. Positive thinking should be a norm. And if we find that we get negative thoughts, then we should first of all accept the fact. Trying hard to remove the negative thoughts will not help, because it will rebound. Instead positive affirmations help. A few positive affirmations are, ' I am confident', I am brave', I am peaceful', I am calm', I love my life', 'Life is wonderful', I love my job',etc......Another very important point to remember is that there is no place for words like ' may, can, will try, etc that is words which are not direct affirmations.
